December's Coding Challenge

- The Day The Code Stood Still -

Day 1
December's Coding Challenge

Beginning of Challenge Smile. Let's see how long that stays.
No make-up and still smiling in the face of this challenge.
December's coding challenge is coding a fully functional website a week throughout December and posting the progress here.  This is a self imposed challenge.  It may even be the same site, done many different ways.  Still trying to figure out the main purpose of the site.  This will be that journey.

Hosting will be done through google drive and sites will be linked here.  The main reason for going this route is, it's free!  I will use these basic front-end skills: HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Javascript, Bootstrap, etc.  Programs that will be used: Notepad++, Gimp, Chrome, Inkscape.  I will add lists of what was used to each day's post.  Don't be too disappointed if the tech used was paper.  I was studying graphic design in college last year, and, sometimes I need a physical mock-up to get things worked out in my head.  I will try to minimize the tree killing.

This is as much a learning experience as a start to a portfolio for front-end coding.  The first couple sites will be to get the hang of it, the others will be for learning how to integrate GitHub.

I have until December 20th to learn as much as I can through codeschool.com, as my subscription won't be getting renewed.  After that, I will focus on using/finishing freecodecamp.com, edx, and other tutorials.

If you plan on undertaking a similar quest, or have done so in the past, please comment.  Constructive criticism is very appreciated!
